The faculty collaborates on research and scientific activities with domestic and international institutions, as well as with other faculties within TUL. Creative and artistic activities are integral to all study programs at FAA TUL. These activities are realized through numerous outputs by students and faculty, which are registered in the Registers of Artistic Outputs (RUV) and Research, Development, and Innovation (RIV). All heads of artistic and architectural studios are prominent creative personalities in their respective fields.
The faculty has long pursued a strategy of integrating research, development, creative, and artistic activities into the curriculum. The academic staff engaged in teaching are recognized creators with numerous esteemed outputs in the Czech Republic and abroad—particularly in architectural projects, art exhibitions, and the creation of public art installations. These works are registered in the Ministry of Education's Register of Artistic Outputs. A smaller portion of the academic staff also engages in scientific research activities, primarily members of the Department of Theory and History of Fine Arts and Architecture.
Students at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels are systematically involved in these activities. Master's students participate in the realization of exhibitions and artistic projects and contribute to activities organized within the framework of scientific research (e.g., preparation of research projects, assisting with conferences, lectures, and workshops).
Doctoral students are involved in teaching in ways that meet the needs of individual instructors and the school’s activities. Their involvement in teaching is also determined by their Individual Study Plan, and the specific mode of involvement is agreed upon with the instructor, taking into account the focus of the particular doctoral student's dissertation.
Doctoral students also participate in the SGS (Student Grant Competition), which serves as their first experience in project preparation, and they are encouraged to actively participate in scientific research conferences.
